Assalamu’alaikum and salam sejahtera
Malaysia Airlines has published the passenger manifest of MH 17 which went down in Ukraine on the way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.
As we are coming to terms with this unprecedented tragedy; it is with great sadness that I have to inform you that one of our valued colleagues, a friend and a member of the extended BSP family, Klaas Willem van Luik is believed to have died in this tragic incident. He was traveling alone on a personal trip.
Klaas Willem van Luik, a Dutch national, was a Principal Explorationist and a member of the Exploration Leadership Team. He had served Shell for 29 years and based in Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) since 1st December 2013. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by the people who knew him best. Our sincerest thoughts and deepest sympathy to his dearest wife, Jenny Ming Na Wee, family and friends in this very difficult time.
In the wake of this tragedy, as a company, we are extending support and assistance to his family who is coping with this fateful event. I hereby humbly request you to please respect their emotions and privacy to grieve and mourn.
We are also deeply saddened that we have lost three other Shell colleagues. Please keep them in your caring thoughts and heartfelt prayers.
· Tambi Bin Jiee of Malaysia who was travelling with his wife and four children
· Paul Rajasingam Sivagnanam of Malaysia who was travelling with his wife and son
· Petra van Langeveld of The Netherlands who was travelling with her son
Our hearts go out to their families and friends of those onboard MH17 flight and Al-Fatihah to the Muslim passengers and crew members.
